Boracay Island Travel Information

Boracay is a small laid-back island in the western Visayas (central islands) region of the Philippines, just off the north-western tip of Panay. The island is 7 km long and just 1 km wide at its narrowest point.

Flights to the Philippines arrive in the capital at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport from most international airports around the world. When arranging your international flights to the Philippines please note that if you land after 3pm, you will need to stay in Manila over night. There are many excellent Manila hotels close to the airport that offer pick-up and delivery service. You can get an early morning flight to Boracay leaving as early as 5:45 am the next day.

Philippine Airlines: 2 flights to Boracay daily
Asian Spirit: 16 flights to Boracay daily
SEAIR: 9 flights to Boracay daily
Cebu Pacific: 2 flights to Boracay daily

Boracay is a short hop from Manila. After your international flight to the Philippines, take a 15 minute taxi ride to the domestic airport, board a SEAIR Dornier 328 for a quick 35 minute flight to Boracay via Caticlan airport or a 40 minute flight on Philippine Airlines to Kalibo airport. If you choose the Caticlan route you will then take a 5 minute tricycle ride from the airport at Caticlan to the jetty port. If you choose the Kalibo route you will take a scenic journey through the Aklan province across Panay island, about 1.5 hour drive in an air-conditioned van or bus to the jetty port. At the Caticlan jetty port, board a small banca boat for a 15 minute ride to the island of Boracay.

Getting around on Boracay is really very simple with the Cohiba Villas shuttle vehicle that can take you to any destination on the island. There are also numerous tricycles, petty cabs and singles (motorbikes). The local transport on Boracay is inexpensive and convenient, and also a lot of fun.
